Some businesses start with a business plan. This one started with two brothers, a homemade CNC machine, and a genuine love of good design.
Nathan and Jordan launched Number My House in Calgary, Alberta back in 2013. They designed and built the original CNC cutting machine themselves. From the beginning, the idea was simple: house numbers should be worth caring about. Well-made, thoughtfully designed, and actually beautiful.
The company has stayed in the family. Over time it found its way to Vancouver and eventually to Victoria, BC, now run by the family with the same hands-on approach it started with. Every order is still checked and shipped personally.
Number My House is proudly part of the Maker movement, a community of builders, designers, and craftspeople who believe the things around us are worth making well. It’s a philosophy that shows up in every font choice, every finish, every number that goes out the door.
The little girl in the photo above is Nathan’s daughter. She was small when this was taken. She’s sixteen now. The company has grown up a bit too, but it’s still the same thing it always was: a family business that cares about the details.
